The Botulinum Toxin is injected directly into the muscle. It stops the targeted muscles from contracting and therefore stops the overlying wrinkles on movement.

When will I start to see results?

Will this help all of my wrinkles?

This will help dynamic wrinkles i.e. wrinkles on movement as the treatment stops the underlying muscles from contracting. It does not treat the wrinkles that are already present on the skin at rest, but you may get a softening affect.

How quickly can I return to work?

Are there any reasons why I can't have the treatment?

You shouldn't have the treatment if you have any muscular disorders such as Myasthenia Graves or Lambert-Eaton syndrome. These are rare disorders. You shouldn't have treatment if you have reacted badly to the same treatment in the past. You also shouldn't have treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding as safety is not established for this. You would need to delay treatment if you were on certain types of antibiotics (usually ear or eye drops) and you should not have treatment within 3 weeks of experiencing a cold sore.

Am I likely to bruise?

You will get small blebs at the injection site which are entirely normal and settle over 1-2 hours. Bruising is one of the more likely side effects to occur but is still likely to be minimal.

What if I don't like the effect?

What if I don't like the effect?

If there is a degree of assymetry this can sometimes be corrected with follow-up treatment at 2 weeks. The treatment will always wear off by 3 months.

What happens if I stop having treatment?

Will the treatment hurt?

Your muscles will work normally again when the treatment wears off.

We use a very small needle and the treatment is usually very well tolerated.
